  • Hello. If you guys haven't heard, your very loving "gospel-christian-soft-rock-band" placed 1st out of all the bands that played on our night.  There was about 12 bands that night.  11 other bands were very different from us and we stood out. Or were we very different from them? hmm.  Either way, our sound stood out from the rest and we got first.

But that isn't our true victory. No sir.

Our true victory was exposing the name of our savior with boldness.  and worshiping in front of drunk people.  Not saying we're self righteous or better people than them, cause we're not.  We ALL fall short.  But the victory goes to God because how many bands can say the word Jesus at a battle of the bands? i don't know.  but that was a victory for us.  Hopefully people were moved by the way acted off and on stage.

That night got me thinking about something that was on my heart since the Kollaboration acoustic that me and kevin backed up Jennifer Chung at.  Playing at Kollaboration and being surrounded by Koreans for the first time for the purpose of not God was new.  I sensed a deep divide between those koreans who've fallen, and those koreans who are still walking.  And there's a huge tension, and the battle of course goes to those that have fallen because Christians are the "minority".  anyway, so awhile back, Eray asked us if we wanted to try out for Kollab that's coming up, and we all said, "no way" for various reasons.  Mine, being, i don't like battle of the bands kind of deal.  But i realized, like how we proclaimed Jesus' existance this past Sunday, imagine us doing it in front of a couple of thousand korean-americans? We would play one note, and Mike can scream out, "Jesus is not in the grave anymore..." but we'd have to fake our audition cause PK (the guy who runs Kollab) would not let us.  and then i was thinking, "if we can just get PK to get rocked by Jesus, he'd have more influence on the audience than we ever would."

So that's where my heart personally and i think the rest of our band is starting to reach out for.  our Korean American brothers and sisters who left the church for various reasons.  In my opinion, it's more likely that a person who never knew about God to come to Christ than for a Korean american who has fallen.

Sorry if my update seemed long and very blunt and offensive and not right.  I'm not a good speaker and i don't know how to censor my words sometimes.

But yeah.  Thanks for those who came out to our BOTB this past sunday.  We really appreciated you ladies and gents who came out and waited 4 hours for us to play.  And i know many of you had things to do early the next morning.  So thank you so much! it was fun worshiping and playing with you guys.
We're not going to do the rest of the battle of the bands cause of Trevor Blair.  I won't go into detail on what happened there.

Glory to God in the highest.  Not to me. Not to us.
